Benjamin Harrison Quarles 80, a retired Washington pharmacist, died Wednesday, at the home of his daughter Constance Quarles Windsor at 4115 17th St NW. He was born in Farmville, Va., and graduated from a secondary school maintained here by Howard University. After two years at Dartmouth, he served with the Army in France during World War I.

Mr. Quarles later obtained a degree in pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh and operated a drug store there until coming here in 1928. He operated a pharmacy at 7th and T Streets NW until his retirement about 15 years ago.

In addition to his daughter, Mr. Quarles is survived by two sisters, Minnie Wray of Pittsburgh, and Gertrude Halt of Louisa, Va., and a granddaughter.
