Clarence A. Lucas 81, long-term Indianapolis physician, died in July, 1996. After graduating from Dartmouth, he attended Indiana University Medical School, from which he graduated in 1940.

He practiced medicine for 50 years and retired in 1991. Dr. Lucas was a member of the Indiana State Medical Association and a director of the Indiana School for the Blind. In 1984 he was awarded a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Robert D. Orr for his service as a 16-year member of the school's advisory committee.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Clinton Lucas, daughter Dr. Lynn Lucas Fehm, sister Dr. Carolyn Dickson, and two grandchildren.
